Financial purchasing manager
   A buyer at a large corporate apparel company that oversees the financial purchasing activities for the entire office and supports the executive vice-president in all financial activities. Job responsibilities include the coordination of competitive bidding and price and term negotiations; managing internal budgets and reporting activities; implementing and administering the operational policies and systems within the functional areas; establishing methods and procedures for departmental work activities; and identifying and resolving any operational problems, vendor disputes, and contract compliance issues. He/she works in conjunction with the corporate purchasing office, legal and finance departments, and the vendors to ensure that merchandising programs are fully supported in accordance with corporate business plan initiatives, approved budgetary targets, and contracts compliance.
